Chelsea fans share Dean Henderson transfer theory after Sheffield United make transfer move

Chelsea are likely to go into the 2020/21 season with a new goalkeeper.

Frank Lampard is on the lookout for a new man to play in goal after a disappointing season for Kepa Arrizabalaga, leading to the Spaniard being dropped in the lead up to the FA Cup final.

A number of options have already been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, including Jan Oblak and Andre Onana.

Another name that Chelsea are said to be keeping an eye on is Manchester United academy graduate Dean Henderson.

The goalkeeper has impressed in his last two seasons on loan at Sheffield United, the second of which was in the Premier League.

The Blades were keen to keep the player at Bramall Lane for longer, but now appear to have moved on, agreeing an £18.5m fee with Bournemouth for Aaron Ramsdale.

It therefore means that Henderson is likely to be staying at Manchester United, unless another team can convince United to part with the player.

Following the decision by the Blades, Chelsea fans took to social media to point out one option available to the Manchester United goalkeeper amid competition with David De Gea.

Henderson kept 13 clean sheets in 36 Premier League games last season and was part of one of the meanest defences in the league, conceding just 33 goals.

Reports suggest that Manchester United could again send the goalkeeper out on loan next season.

Although he is highly rated at Old Trafford and the Red Devils are in talks over offering him a long-term contract at the club.
