Chelsea fans sent into Eden Hazard transfer frenzy after Madrid ace makes decision on his future

Eden Hazard wants to seal a landmark return to Stamford Bridge this summer.

That is according to a report by El Chiringuito TV in Spain, who say the winger, who will be hoping to fire Belgium to Euro 2020 glory this summer, has grown unhappy at Real Madrid and wants to seal a return to Chelsea, less than two years after he left the west London club to make the move to the Spanish capital.

Hazard, despite joining Los Blancos for a fee that could eventually exceed £150million, has struggled to have any sort of impact for the La Liga giants, with injury issues having hampered his chances of making progress for Zinedine Zidane's side.

This season, the Belgian star has racked up just 21 appearances in all competitions, scoring a paltry four goals in the process.

In truth, Hazard has struggled to get anywhere near the form and quality he produced so frequently at Stamford Bridge over the last couple of years, with Madrid supporters growing frustrated. But after he was spotted laughing and joking with Chelsea duo Edouard Mendy and Kurt Zouma after the Blues' UEFA Champions League semi-final triumph over the Spanish side earlier this month, Hazard had reached the point of no return with a lot of the club's fans.

Now, according to reports in Spain, Hazard wants to leave, with his preference to return to Chelsea and try and pick up where he left off.

Admittedly, it is a prospect that Hazard may not be the same player if he was to return to Stamford Bridge this summer, with injury issues bound to have affected his long-term capabilities.

However, with Hazard keen to leave the Bernabeu and seal a return to Stamford Bridge, no shortage of Chelsea supporters are now pleading for the Belgian to return to his old stomping ground.

Below, football.london has taken a close look at what some Chelsea fans have had to say on Twitter in response to the latest developments concerning the winger's future.

As you can see from the messages above, no shortage of Blues fans would welcome Hazard back to Stamford Bridge with open arms, even when taking into account his recent injury record.

Hazard was a cult hero during his first spell at Stamford Bridge and holds a special place in the hearts of many, just as the club holds a place in his.

Back in December 2019, Hazard admitted that he would like to one day return to Stamford Bridge, meaning if the opportunity arose this summer he would almost certainly consider it.

"When I finish here I’ll come back," Hazard said at the time.

Asked whether he has watched his old side on television Hazard replied: "Yeah, when I can I watch. Not all the time.

"They are doing well, they’re young. Now they can pay for players, they can buy players now.

"I do my job here and then I come back."
