Chelsea fans sent into a frenzy after Timo Werner and Kai Havertz combo for Germany

Chelsea's newest stars Timo Werner and Kai Havertz were in top form for Germany on Tuesday.

Both grabbed a goal and an assist off each other in a rollercoaster ride of a match, resulting in a 3-3 draw with Switzerland.

And fans of the Blues were absolutely loving what they saw, hoping the duo can replicate their form at Stamford Bridge.

Both players were signed by Frank Lampard in the summer, Werner for £50m and Havertz for £72m.

Big things are expected of the new signings but it is early days so far.

But a stellar display from the duo on the international platform has given Chelsea fans to be excited after a pulsating clash.

Switzerland raced into a 2-0 lead before Werner pulled one back with a brilliant finish with his weaker foot after good work from Havertz to get the ball to him.

It was then the midfielder's turn, 10 minutes after the second half began, Havertz got on the scoresheet.

After intercepting a cross-field pass, the 21-year-old raced towards goal to slot a fine finish past Yann Sommer.

And fans are over the moon to see the Chelsea duo combining for Germany.

One said on Twitter : “Werner and Havertz popping off tonight”.

“Werner and Havertz scoring tonight. You just love to see it,” another said.

A third commented: “Havertz & Werner, the Chelsea wonder boys”.

Another warned their upcoming Premier League opponents: “Havertz and Werner scored? Get ready Southampton ”.

While one quipped: “Without Kai Havertz and Timo Werner Germany are basically San Marino.”

Chelsea could hand a debut to Hakim Ziyech against Southampton on Saturday, albeit from the bench.

The former Ajax star has missed the start of the season through injury but is expected to be in the matchday squad this weekend.

Another player who could return is Christian Pulisic, who suffered a hamstring injury in last season's FA Cup final.

But there are doubts over Ben Chilwell, who pulled out of the England squad after sustaining a foot problem.
