Chelsea fans rage after Tottenham unveil Steven Bergwijn and Man Utd agree Bruno Fernandes fee

Some Chelsea fans have taken to social media after Tottenham Hotspur confirmed the signing of Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven.

The Dutch winger has joined the north Londoners for a fee in the region of £25million, with another £1.6million in potential add-ons, taking the price up to around £27million.

The 22-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract and has been given the number 23 shirt number - only just vacated by Christian Eriksen, who left the club for Inter Milan on Tuesday.

Speaking to the club following his move to the capital, the Dutchman opened up on his transfer and what he will bring.

Jose Mourinho explains Danny Rose absence amid transfer rumours

"I think it's an amazing move, an amazing club," he said.

"Whatever I can bring I will give it for the club and for this team.

"It's a dream for every football player I think to play in the Premier League: the atmosphere, the stadiums are always full.

"I look day to day and I want to score goals, give assists and win the Champions League."

Bergwijn's arrival at Spurs is timely for Jose Mourinho, after the departure of Christian Eriksen to Inter Milan.

The winger adds an extra option to the Tottenham attack, and will provide additional goal threat with Harry Kane sidelined until April with a hamstring injury.

And with Spurs only six points behind Chelsea in the Premier League table, some Blues supporters took to social media to bemoan their side's lack of transfer activity compared to their rivals.

Fellow top four contenders Manchester United are also reportedly close to completing a deal for Sporting midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

United have agreed a deal worth £47million, which could rise to £67.7million for the Portugal international.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been on the hunt for midfield reinforcements this month, after the injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba.
