Chelsea fans noticed what Thiago Silva did after swapping shirts with Tottenham's Lucas Moura

Chelsea missed out on the chance to go top of the Premier League table on Sunday afternoon as they played out a goalless draw with London rivals Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.

In a game of few chances and major talking points, both sides cancelled each other out and were forced to settle for a point in a contest that, in truth, massively failed to live up to expectation.

Nevertheless, it maintained both clubs' recent unbeaten runs and saw Spurs return to the top of the Premier League table, moving ahead of Liverpool, who were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday, on goal difference.

For Chelsea, they can now focus on Wednesday evening's trip to Spain to face Sevilla in their penultimate game of their Champions League group, although they have already secured their passage to the knockout stages with two games to spare.

With the Blues' route to the last-16 already sealed and the fixtures coming thick and fast, Frank Lampard, who watched his side draw 0-0 with Sevilla back in October, could ring the changes, focusing one eye on Saturday's clash with Leeds United.

One of the players who could drop out of the side to face Sevilla is Thiago Silva, who helped the Blues record their fifth Premier League clean sheet of the season on Sunday.

Lampard has been forced to recently manage Silva's fitness after being away with the Brazilian national team over the international break, meaning he could drop out of the side against Sevilla in a bid to keep him fresh for the visit of Marcelo Bielsa's Whites.

And, following a drab 90 minutes of football at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon, Silva was a talking point amongst some Blues fans on social media following the full-time whistle.

With the battle completed, Silva was picked up by the Sky Sports cameras in a discussion with Spurs duo Serge Aurier and Lucas Moura.

The Brazilian centre-back played with both Aurier and Moura at Paris Saint-Germain, as well as being an international team-mate of Moura's for Brazil.

Silva swapped shirts with Moura at the end of the contest and decided that his international team-mate's Spurs shirt would be a trusty tool to wipe his nose with.

His actions were soon picked up on by Chelsea fans, who saw the funny side to what Silva had just done.

On reddit, one Chelsea fan wrote: "Moura was on for like 5mins lol. I’m pretty sure his jersey was sweat free."

Another posted: "Good single use loo paper."

Another Chelsea supporter posted: "B-but covid?!"

A fellow Blues fan said: "PSG reunion. Got to admit Silva and Moura reunion was beautiful."
