Chelsea fans noticed what Jorginho did to Son Heung-min and Tanguy Ndombele in win vs Tottenham

Jorginho was the hero for Chelsea in their 1-0 win over London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday night.

The Italy international has already become a permanent fixture in the Blues team under new head coach Thomas Tuchel and is back on penalty taking duties despite a patchy record this season.

Having missed from the spot against Arsenal on Boxing Day, Jorginho showed nerves of steel to step up again.

However, he altered his run-up. Ditching the usual hop, skip, and jump technique, the midfielder, perhaps, caught Hugo Lloris off guard and placed his effort in the corner of the net.

That proved to be the only goal of the game, meaning Chelsea have now won at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in successive seasons and sees them leapfrog their rivals in the Premier League table.

Speaking about allowing Jorginho to take the penalty, Tuchel revealed how he came to the decision.

"The guys took some penalties in the last nine days after training and we have Willy Caballero and the guys pushing the penalty takes to be serious and if you are not then you don't score," Tuchel said in his post-match press conference.

"So you get a good picture of who is capable and today it was Mason and Jorginho on the sheet, we put the two names and I said to Jorginho just before the match if he feels confident to take a penalty and he said clearly yes.

"So we trusted him but I did not discuss with him how to take it."

Although, Jorginho's penalty is not the only talking point amongst some Chelsea supporters on Reddit.

As seen in the images above, one stage in the second half the 29-year-old evaded both Son Heung-min and Tanguy Ndombele with a simple turn deep in own half which prompted a show of appreciation.

lrzbca said: "What happens when your team moves around instead of being static? We get to see why Pep wanted Jorginho. 3 at the back does help both Kovacic and Jorginho to be more expressive but our players movement past 3 games is been elite.

"Something we see with City and Bayern."

TheWompage agreed: "This this this this this. It really is as simple as players moving to receive the ball rather than everyone stood like training cones wanting the ball to feet.

"Throw in a few practiced patterns for transition and some of our players are unrecognisable from a few weeks ago."

Zailino said: "Just like with his penalty! Great performance from him today."

eternalblue227 said: "Absolutely terrible pressing from Tottenham there. Good from Jorginho to take advantage of that."
