Chelsea have now kept back-to-back clean sheets following a goalless draw against Manchester United in the Premier League.
On Tuesday night it was Sevilla at home in the Champions League, on Saturday evening it was away at Old Trafford in a game that saw both defences come out on top.
Blues head coach Frank Lampard made one change to the side in midweek as captain Cesar Azpilicueta returned in place of Mason Mount which also meant a formation alteration.
Speaking ahead of kick-off, Lampard addressed his side's hunger for more clean sheets.
"We've done okay, we can do better without a doubt. Early season for us, we’ve seen it across the league that teams are trying to find form, I think we’re one of those," he told Sky Sports. "I was pretty happy with the result in midweek, it was good for us, because you saw a team that was solid with a clean sheet - which is what we’ve been striving for in recent games.
"Scoring goals hasn’t been a problem all season, but we know we’re coming against a very good team that gives us different problems. We have to get both sides of our game right and respect the opposition, but come here with the bravery in the way we play.
"We have players who are finding fitness, that are finding each other, that are making relationships in the team."
Chances were few and far between for both sides as Chelsea's attacking trio of Timo Werner, Kai Havertz and Christian Pulisic were kept largely quiet, but most of the focus has been on their defence.
The 3-4-3 system ensured Chelsea were stable defensively, but Thiago Silva and goalkeeper Edouard Mendy were brilliant when called upon.
As a result, some fans have noticed that the Blues are yet to concede a goal when the pair have started alongside each other.
