Chelsea fans notice what Timo Werner did in training ahead of Liverpool clash

Chelsea striker Timo Werner has looked sharp in training this week, and that could be bad news for Liverpool.

The Germany international is one of several new signings made by the club this summer and made his competitive debut during the 3-1 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Monday night as the Blues made a fine start to the new Premier League season.

Despite not getting on the scoresheet, Werner impressed many with his all-round play and was responsible for winning the penalty from which Jorginho broke the deadlock.

Kai Havertz relishing Werner and Lampard relationships

Next up for Werner is Liverpool - a club he was heavily linked with prior to sealing a £47.5m transfer to Chelsea - and he looks to be in the mood to open his account against Jurgen Klopp's side.

Ahead of the game at Stamford Bridge, he alongside the likes of Olivier Giroud, Kai Havertz, Callum Hudson-Odoi, and Thiago Silva were put through their paces at the club's training base in Cobham.

And there was a spot of shooting practice taking place.

As spotted in a behind the scenes of Chelsea's training session video uploaded to the club's YouTube page, Werner managed to put on a goalscoring clinic as he found the net with all of his attempts.

But it's his dinked effort at around the 2.29 minute mark that has sent Blues fans into a frenzy.

One fan praised the chip by saying: "Timo is an absolute demon did yall see that chip jeez."

Another supporter is of the opinion that Chelsea have got a bargain for Werner: "Look at all those finishes. The fact that we got Timo for only 50m. Still in disbelief. That guy is a beast."

"Timo's finishing and composure is deadly," was the response of another fan.

Once Werner does get off the mark, he is being backed to score at least 20 goals in his debut season.

"It all seems a bit too good to be true," Gary Neville said on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show. "You talk about £45m, not a lot of money.

"I will be absolutely amazed if he doesn’t get 20 goals for Chelsea this season if he stays fit."
