Chelsea fans notice what Reece James did to Riyad Mahrez vs Manchester City

Chelsea full-back Reece James has broken into the first team at Stamford Bridge this season.

After injury disrupted the start to his campaign, he has now made 11 first team appearances under Frank Lampard, with five of them coming in the Premier League.

James impressed on loan in the Championship at Wigan last season, winning the club's player of the year award after making 46 appearances in all competitions for the club.

The 19-year-old was bought on as a second half substitute in the Blues' last Premier League match against Manchester City. Riyad Mahrez scored the winning goal for Pep Guardiola's men in a 2-1 defeat.

However, reddit users have noticed one moment when the James got the better of the 2016 PFA player of the year.

With less than three minutes left too play, James takes the ball on his chest in his own box, and flicks it over Mahrez, before collecting the ball himself, pushing forward with the ball. The young full-back then played the ball in behind the Manchester City defence for Willian to collect.

James was rewarded for his performance with a start in Chelsea's Champions League draw against Valencia during the week, a game in which he played the full 90 minutes.

The teenager could get the chance to start just his second Premier League game when Chelsea take on West Ham United at Stamford Bridge this afternoon (Saturday).
