Chelsea fans notice what Mason Mount did after Barnsley FA Cup omission

Chelsea fans have noticed what Mason Mount did during the Blues' FA Cup win over Barnsley

Mount sat out the trip to Oakwell having racked up no fewer than 31 appearances across all competitions already this season, playing in almost 2,400 minutes in all.

Despite his young legs, the midfielder could do with rest, and Thomas Tuchel could afford to leave the midfielder out of Thursday's clash with Championship outfit Barnsley.

As it turned out, the clash with Barnsley turned out to be a difficult affair, the Blues limping through 1-0 thanks to Tammy Abraham's second-half goal, despite Tuchel still putting out a strong team.

In the end, Chelsea got the job done, and they managed to rest the likes of Mount and Kai Havertz along the way, while Timo Werner was given crucial time out after picking up a knock last weekend.

But while Mount was allowed to stay at home, the midfielder made sure he tuned in to cheer on his teammates.

Chelsea fans spotted Instagram videos from the 22-year-old during the game where he is celebrating his side's goal at Oakwell with one fan on Reddit describing Mount as a 'true blue' for his actions.

Mount posted a video of the goal on his TV and shouted 'go on Tam!'', also posting a video of Abraham's post-match interview with a comedic filter on his teammate's face.

Fans will be delighted to see Mount remaining so dialled in, even when given the night off by his boss.

The midfielder has been praised for his approach time and again in the past having given everything for the club he loves, be it in training or games.

And he has even been tipped to be a future captain of the club by legend John Terry.

"Mason Mount is 100 per cent future Chelsea captain," said Terry on an Instagram live. "He's been the best player at Chelsea this season to be honest.

"He's a great lad, trains unbelievably well, is Chelsea through and through and shows leadership qualities. In my mind he'll be Chelsea and England captain."
