Chelsea fans notice what Kai Havertz did in training following £72m transfer

After weeks of work on the deal, Kai Havertz is a Chelsea player.

The German international completed his move to Stamford Bridge on Friday after the Blues agreed a fee of £72 million plus £18 million in potential add-ons with Bayer Leverkusen.

Havertz has become Chelsea’s sixth new arrival of the summer transfer window after Frank Lampard sealed the signings of Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell, Malang Sarr and Thiago Silva.

The deal also takes the Blues’ spending for the transfer window over the £200 million mark.

When Kai Havertz could join up with the Chelsea squad

Havertz was one of Chelsea’s top transfer targets this summer after impressing in the Bundesliga during the 2019/20 campaign.

The 21-year-old attracted interest from around Europe after scoring 12 goals in 30 league appearances.

The midfielder has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge and took part in his first training session as a Chelsea player on Sunday afternoon.

And it is during that session that Chelsea fans noticed the player already living up to his potential.

Taking part in a shooting drill, fans on Twitter noticed that Haverz puts every one of his shots past the goalkeeper, finding the corner of the net on a few occasions.

After completing his move to Stamford Bridge, Havertz sent a message to Chelsea fans.

"I couldn't be prouder and feel more privileged to join Chelsea Football Club. Yesterday marked the day of my childhood dreams coming true,” he said.

"I can't wait to be wearing blue and playing at Stamford Bridge hopefully in front of our incredible fans soon.”
