Chelsea fans name Frank Lampard's strongest line-up ahead of Newcastle and Tottenham clashes

Chelsea's first Premier League match after the international break comes in the form of a long trip to Newcastle United, before a huge test against high-flying Tottenham the following weekend.

The Blues have looked solid during their last few outings despite making an initially shaky start to the season.

Their defensive worries have been eased by Edouard Mendy 's introduction between the sticks, with the Senegal international helping Chelsea to keep five consecutive clean sheets for the first time since 2010.

The additions of fellow new arrivals Timo Werner and Kai Havertz, two of the brightest young talents in world football, has also helped Frank Lampard 's side in front of goal with the German duo registering nine goal contributions in eight Premier League matches.

Hakim Ziyech is another new arrival to have made a positive impact having played a starring role during Chelsea's 3-0 win over Burnley last month, and has been tipped to become the club's 'sensation of the year' by former Blues boss Avram Grant.

football.london readers were given the opportunity to select their strongest Chelsea team ahead of next week's return to action at Newcastle, and surprisingly Ziyech was not included in the side.

Academy product Callum Hudson-Odoi was instead preferred to line up alongside Werner and Christian Pulisic to make up Chelsea's attacking trident.

The England youngster has played four times in the Premier League this season and scored during Chelsea's 3-3 draw with West Bromwich Albion in September.

Havertz and Mason Mount were chosen in central midfield, supplemented by N'Golo Kante in his usual deep-lying role.

Veteran Thiago Silva, who joined from Paris Saint-Germain over the summer and has impressed at the back for Chelsea, was picked to partner Kurt Zouma in central defence with Ben Chilwell and Reece James chosen to fill the full-back positions.

Chelsea will be looking to continue their good form into the festive period and beyond as Lampard seeks a title challenge in his second season as manager of his former club.
