Chelsea fans' message to Jose Mourinho and ruthless Kante - Moments missed in Man City loss

Mourinho message from Chelsea fans

Chelsea fans were left surprised that their former boss, Jose Mourinho, became the new head coach of Tottenham Hotspur.

With the Blues playing Manchester City, that should have been the big game of the weekend, but it was a little overshadowed by Mourinho’s return.

While the Chelsea fans were fully focused on their own team, of course, there was certainly one moment of chanting from the away end at the Etihad Stadium.

The Blues supporters used some less than polite language to send their message to Mourinho.

When Chelsea make the trip to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on December 22, it is certainly going to be a tasty affair.

Tomori making his mark

Fikayo Tomori has become a mainstay in the Chelsea defence this season, and despite being just 21 years of age he isn’t afraid of letting more senior players know what he thinks.

During a break in play in the second half, the England international gave some of the other, more experienced players a piece of his mind.

That included Jorginho, and it appeared Tomori’s way of trying to get the other Blues players up another level and going for the rest of the match.

It's a great sign for the future to see Tomori play that role and he is certainly going to be an influential figure for the Blues and Frank Lampard.

Batshuayi’s offsides

Michy Batshuayi has often made a very good impact for the Blues when he has come on for Chelsea as a substitute.

His goal at Ajax in the Champions League stands out, of course, and Lampard would have hoped that he would have the same effect at the Etihad.

However, it was pretty much the opposite, highlighted by the frustration of watching the Belgian being offside on several occasions.

He might have been only on the pitch for about 15 minutes, but was flagged off three times in quick succession.

Falling over in the box didn’t help, either, when he was trying to run through on goal.

Unfortunately for Batshuayi, it wasn’t a great substitution for him.

Ruthless Kante

N'Golo Kante is not one who has been known for his goalscoring record, but maybe the France World Cup winner should try his luck more often.

The midfielder has had three shots on target so far this season, and each time he has found the back of the net.

It's ruthless from Kante, but the main thing for Lampard is to make sure that Kante remains fit for the rest of the campaign.
