Chelsea fans make the same Kepa comment after Ben Chilwell stuns in training

Chelsea fans all said the same thing about out-of-favour goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga as Ben Chilwell put two stunning strikes past him in training.

The Blues goalkeeper was taken out of Frank Lampard’s starting XI for the 3-3 draw against West Brom on Saturday.

It has seen the Spaniard, who arrived for £72m last summer, linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge next season.

And footage has emerged of the 25-year-old being given an even harder time in training by Chilwell, who arrived for £50m from Leicester last month.

In the clip, the players are practising their volleying skills at Cobham as Kepa tries to keep them out.

The Englishman takes a high-ball from the right and smashes it with the outside of his left boot, curling towards the back of the net.

But all the shot-stopper can do is watch as the goal behind him bulges.

The exercise is repeated at the other end of the pitch, with Chilwell taking the ball from the left side this time.

Keep crouches down to launch himself up – but the left-back is able to place a left-footed volley into the top-left corner of the net.

This footage earned more than 500,000 views within an hour of being shared on Chelsea ’s official Instagram channel.

While several were blown away by Chilwell’s incredible volleys, others in the Blues faithful were more concerned about the goalkeeper’s performance.

“With Kepa as goalie? I’m not surprised,” one supporter said.

Another commented: “If it’s Kepa it doesn’t count.”

While a third held nothing back, writing: “Kepa didn’t even see it.”

After slotting into the top-left corner at the second attempt, the Blues faithful were less than impressed with Kepa (CHELSEA)

And a fourth added: “How was Kepa in both nets and didn’t save even one?”

A fifth made a brutal prediction, with: “Lampard is setting us up for failure.”

With a sixth simply writing: “Kepa, just get out.”

Keep has got some new competition between the posts with the arrival of Edouard Mendy – but Lampard has kept his cards close to his chest on the new goalkeeping hierarchy at Stamford Bridge.
