Leeds United continue to be linked with a move for Brighton and Hove Albion defender Ben White.
It's no surprise that the Whites are keen on bringing the 22-year-old back to Elland Road on a permanent basis this summer after his outstanding displays whilst on loan during the 2019/20 campaign which ended in promotion back to the Premier League.
Any hope of getting a deal done rests with Albion and head coach Graham Potter has already outlined his belief that White is ready to play in the top flight of English football.
But will that be with Brighton or Leeds?
Well, Seagulls chief Tony Bloom has suggested there could be movement in terms of central defenders at the Amex Stadium during the current transfer window.
"I’m not going to speculate on whether we may or may not get offers for many of our players," Bloom told the Athletic. "We certainly do have an abundance of centre-backs and there are constant discussions between myself and Graham and Dan (Ashworth, technical director) and the recruitment team about what our needs are, what’s going to be happening.
"There will be some players who go out on loan at some point during pre-season or the first few weeks of the season.
"There are lots of things to make decisions on, but it’s a really good thing that we’ve got some very good players in our squad, not all of whom will be in our squad come the end of the transfer window."
With that said, those comments have alerted a number of Chelsea supporters who are demanding the club sign a defender from Brighton this summer.
The Blues have struggled defensively this season and some fans are calling for Lewis Dunk to solve their problems at the back.
Take a look at what's been said on Twitter...
Dunk to Chelsea would be somewhat of a surprise transfer and could also be bad news for Leeds United.
This is because that deal would likely increase the chances of White staying put at the Amex as a replacement for Dunk despite the recent arrival of Joel Veltman from Ajax.
Whilst Bloom has admitted Brighton have an abundance of centre-backs, it would be somewhat of a surprise if they allowed Dunk and White to leave in the same window.
