Chelsea fans make shock U-turn over Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain

Chelsea's striking woes were meant to have been solved when they signed Gonzalo Higuain from Juventus on a loan-deal in January, but as we enter April the same problems are still there for Maurizio Sarri.

The Argentine has scored just three times since arriving at Stamford Bridge with those goals coming against teams that will be playing in the Championship next season in Huddersfield Town and Fulham.

That form hasn't been good enough and his struggles continued in South Wales on Sunday against Cardiff City.

Higuain's arrival saw Alvaro Morata shipped out to Atletico Madrid on loan, with the Spanish striker being deemed as not fitting into the style of play that Sarri wants the Blues to play at the Bridge.

Pedro, Jorginho and Higuain - latest Chelsea injury news and expected return dates

He's scored four times for Diego Simeone's side since heading out there but is gaining fans for his performances for his new side, unlike Higuain, who Chelsea fans are starting to feel frustrated over.

However, it looks like the fan base is split straight down the middle over which striker they would want at Chelsea at the moment.

In a poll we ran on our football.london Chelsea Facebook page we asked fans who they would like to see up front for Chelsea out of Morata and Higuain and the votes were very interesting.

52% of people at time of writing said they'd rather have Morata, the man that scored just five goals in the Premier League in his spell at Stamford Bridge this season, over Higuain.

It's remarkable given that a lot fans before January felt that Morata wasn't able to offer much to the team and that he wasn't suited to the style of play that Sarri has been trying to implement in his first season here.

With a two-window Fifa transfer ban looming for Chelsea, their striking issues don't look like they will be solved any time soon, with Higuain having to do far better than he has done so far to ensure the Blues have a chance of finishing in the top four spots.
