Mendy, who joined in the summer of 2020, was instrumental as the Blues won the UEFA Champions League last season, conceding just three times in 12 matches in the competition.
The Senegalese international has continued his fine form this term, keeping nine clean sheets across 15 games across all competitions as Thomas Tuchel's side currently sit top of the table despite drawing 1-1 with Burnley on Saturday.
Liverpool fans have often maintained that Alisson is a better 'keeper than the former Rennes shot-stopper, but the Brazilian endured a torrid Sunday afternoon as the Reds lost 3-2 to West Ham United.
Alisson scored an own goal, tipping a Pablo Fornals corner into his own net before Fornals and Kurt Zouma fired in a second and third in the second half.
