Chelsea fans love what N'Golo Kante did in the 94th minute against Atletico Madrid

Chelsea fans are loving what man-of-the-match N'Golo Kante did in the final minute of the Champions League last-16 tie with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues are in the draw for the Champions League quarter-finals on Friday afternoon after winning both legs against Atletico. Hakim Ziyech opened the scoring in the first half of the second leg adding to Olivier Giroud's stunning goal in the away leg.

In the final minute of the tie, Emerson Palmieri added some gloss to the victory with a fine strike beyond Atleti 'keeper Jan Oblak to make the score 3-0 on aggregate.

However, it is Kante's involvement that is grabbing Chelsea fan's attention on social media.

The French midfielder had dominated the second leg and was rewarded with the man-of-the-match award but his near full-length sprint in the final moments of a tie already won summed up his commitment to the Chelsea cause.

As the fresh-legged substitute, Christian Pulisic received the ball and set off up the pitch he was joined by fellow sub Palmieri bearing down on the Atletico defence.

Kante could be forgiven for letting his teammates attack alone considering he had been non-stop running for the previous 94 minutes of the game, came haring up alongside Pulisic.

The 29-year-old's run stretched the defence, forcing the defence to cover both him and Palmieri. Pulisic elected to pass to the Italian who was in acres of space thanks to Kante's run and the substitute smashed home.

There will be no assist on Kante's record books but his involvement was every bit as important as that of both Puliisic and Palmieri.

And Chelsea fans loved what they saw. Here's what some fans have had to say on the clip on Reddit.

NobodyMoves1998 - "Absolutely unbelievable"

hellooperator9 - "His off the ball movement is so underrated. We wouldn't have scored without that run, meant two defenders were preoccupied at the crucial moment and Emerson had a free shot at goal."

LethcalCaribou - "Such a crucial run as well to draw the defender out."

Fuzzy-Pain - "He just casually overtook two Atleti players, mad stuff."

Greatkitchener - "Different level of fitness."

Curcket - "I'm sad he didnt get the shot from Puli there, but Emerson deserved his stroke. classy football."

jack_shepherd37 - "Bet he ran home too, what a player."
