Chelsea fans have Jorginho transfer theory after Watford snub

Chelsea bounced back from defeat against West Ham in style as they picked up an important three points against Watford.

Goals from Olivier Giroud, Willian, and Ross Barkley gave the Blues’ a comfortable 3-0 win over the Hornets to take them back above Manchester United and into fourth - a position that would guarantee Champions League football at Stamford Bridge.

Wins for both United and Leicester earlier in the day put pressure on Frank Lampard’s team to pick up points, and Giroud would have settled any nerves by finding the net just before the half an hour in a game dominated by the Blues.

While fans were impressed by the performance and victory, some Chelsea fans also noticed the exclusion of one player in particular.

Since the return of the Premier League, Italian midfielder Jorginho is yet to make an appearance and has been left as an unused substitute for the past four games in all competitions.

When N’Golo Kante was forced from the field in the second half, Billy Gilmour was chosen to fill the role ahead of Jorginho.

The decision has led to Chelsea fans coming up with a theory as to why the midfielder has not been given game time since the restart of the league.

Jorginho has played a total of 37 games in all competitions so far this season, providing seven goals and two assists.

The midfielder has been linked with a reunion with former Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri at Juventus.

Chelsea’s interest in Kai Havertz at Bayer Leverkusen could mean that the Blues would look to cash in on the midfielder in order to raise funds, and space in the squad for a possible move.
