Chelsea fans have brilliant Erling Haaland transfer theory as video resurfaces of Lampard claim

Erling Braut Haaland is one of the most feared strikers in world football.

The young Norwegian has set the Bundesliga alight following his summer move from Red Bull Salzburg to Borussia Dortmund, scoring an astonishing 17 goals in 13 appearances.

That's not to mention the six international goals he has scored in five matches.

Dortmund shelled out just £17million for the teenage prodigy, with the CIES Football Observatory now valuing him between £135million and £180million.

Haaland, son of former Leeds United defender Alf-Inge Haaland, has plenty of suitors in the Premier League and across Europe, although there are few clubs out there who could afford him.

Christian Pulisic returns but will he start?

One of the clubs that could, you would think, would be Chelsea, with the Blues having splashed out more than £200million in the summer transfer window on new signings such as Timo Werner and Kai Havertz.

Both of those made the move from Germany to England and could they pave the way for Haaland to arrive in weest London too?

It would seem unlikely, but Chelsea supporters have got excited by a video of Haaland that was originally broadcast by ESPN in May.

ESPN put quickfire questions to the Dortmund frontman during lockdown, asking him, among others, which retired player he would most like to have played with.

Haaland thought for a couple of seconds, before responding: "Frank Lampard."

And on the Chelsea Reddit page, the video has resurfaced, with Blues supporters excited by what they have seen.

Here's how they reacted.

awwbabe said: "Werner/Puli - Haaland/Tammy - Ziyech/CHO. You know you want it."

SinisterZzz said: "Sign the man up."

absurdsolitaire said: "So where is the best place for me to buy my Haaland shirt?"

lrzbca said: "Won’t be far fetched given CHO and Pulisic injuries. If this happens we are winning league on spin. That’s a brutal attack. CHO and Ziyech will enjoy crossing the ball to Haaland while Haaland can shield the ball and let Werner lose into open area."
