Champions League final set for free-to-air TV channel to give Chelsea and Man City fans boost

This season will end with fans able to watch UEFA's showpiece final live for free in the UK.

Chelsea and Manchester City fans who aren't able to make their way out to Porto for the Champions League final will not have to get a BT Sport subscription to watch their team in action.

The final will have 6,000 fans from each of the two sides allowed in the Estadio do Dragao in Porto with millions more around the world expected to tune in.

With both sides being English, fans around the country will be wanting to tune in to watch, and now those without the usually required subscriptions will be able to do so as well.

Both finals will be available to view for free at btsport.com/final, on the BT Sport YouTube channel and via the BT Sport app for small and large-screen devices, including PlayStation, Xbox, Samsung smart TVs and Amazon Fire, and on Virgin channel 532.

Live coverage of the final will begin at 6pm on Saturday 29 May on BT Sport 1 HD and BT Sport Ultimate, hosted by Gary Lineker a including Rio Ferdinand, Joleon Lescott, Joe Cole , Steve McManaman , Glenn Hoddle, Darren Fletcher and Des Kelly.

Chelsea will enter the final in high spirits when facing off against Pep Guardiola's side, having won the previous two meetings between the sides.

The Blues claimed a 2-1 Premier League victory at the Etihad a fortnight ago as well as knocking the Citizens out of the FA Cup semi-final in April.

City will be aiming to secure a first European Cup in their history on May 29, meanwhile Chelsea are looking to build on their 2012 Champions League success.

It is the second time in three years that two Premier League teams have gone head-to-head in European football's biggest fixture, having already experienced Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool battling it out in the 2019 final.
