Chelsea fans can't believe what Erling Braut Haaland did against Liverpool

Erling Braut Haaland has been one of the break out stars of European football this season.

The 19-year-old had already scored 28 goals in 20 appearances across the Austrian topflight, the Austrian cup and the Champions League prior to facing Liverpool.

Chelsea fans tuned in to watch the Reds play against Red Bull Salzburg in their final Champions League group match before watching their own team face Lille.

Haaland has been eyed as an intriguing option for the Blues by some supporters keen to find a striker who complement Tammy Abraham's role in the team.

Lampard delighted with transfer embargo being lifted

After impressing on loan with Aston Villa last season the England forward has enjoyed his own landmark campaign under Frank Lampard.

The 22-year-old has 15 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions since replacing Olivier Giroud up front at the start of the season and on the evidence of his match against Liverpool a number of Chelsea fans would rather stick with Abraham.

Despite his impressive record for Salzburg of late, Haaland was unable to find the back of the net as Liverpool won 2-0 in Austria.

He managed only one shot on target before being substituted in the 75th minute having missed a good chance to grab a goal for the hosts.

A number of Chelsea were left wondering what all the fuss is about on Twitter.

Haaland has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United in recent months after joining Salzburg in the summer.

Prior to his move to Austria, the teenager played three seasons in Norway for Bryne and later Molde. In September 2019 he made his senior international debut.

The forward has over Premier League connections. His father is Alf-Inge Haaland, a retired defender who played for Nottingham Forest, Leeds United and Manchester City.

Erling Braut Haaland was actually born in Leeds in 2000 and has previously spoken of his desire to lead the Whites back up into the English topflight and a future shot at the title.

Youth has been on the agenda for Chelsea under Lampard this year, whether or not there has been interest in the Norwegian.

Abraham has lead the line and put himself in contention for the Premier League Golden Boot award handed over to the division's top scorer at the end of the season.
