Chelsea fan notices what Declan Rice did on Instagram after Ben Chilwell transfer announcement

Chelsea are expected to have a busy week in the transfer market.

The Blues have now added three new faces to their squad ahead of the start of the new season.

Hakim Ziyech joined from Ajax back in February, while Timo Werner completed his move from RB Leipzig at the start of the season.

The latest new addition is former Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, who signed a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge after the club agreed a £50 million fee with the Foxes.

The ultimate lowdown on Declan Rice

The defender is expected to be soon joined by Thiago Silva and Kai Havertz at the club as progress has been made on the deals.

After the announcement of the signing, Chilwell took to social media to send a message to Chelsea fans.

“Absolutely buzzing to sign for @ChelseaFC,” he wrote.

“Really exciting time for the club, with such a good squad! Can’t wait to meet all of the lads and everyone around the building. Special thank you to the manager for the faith he has shown in me. A dream come true. Come on you blues.”

But it was the social media activity of another transfer target that caught the attention of one eagle-eyed Chelsea fan.

As pointed out on Reddit, Declan Rice was among the first people to ‘like’ the announcement of Chilwell on Instagram, with the West Ham midfielder having seen the post within three minutes of it being posted.

It has led to fans speculating that he has Chelsea notifications switched on.

Rice is said to be one of Chelsea’s other targets this summer, with the Blues hoping to convince West Ham to part with the player.

The 21-year-old started his career at Chelsea before moving to West Ham and progressing through the academy.

As reported by Sky Sports , West Ham dismissed reports that Chelsea had made a £50 million move for Rice earlier in the month.
