Chelsea fan has a brilliant theory ahead of FA Cup final against Arsenal

For the second time in successive seasons, Chelsea and Arsenal will contest a major cup final.

A year ago the two London teams did battle in Azerbaijan, Baku in the Europa League final with the Blues coming out on top with a commanding 4-1 scoreline.

That result also ensured the Gunners did not qualify for the Champions League this season.

And history could repeat itself on August 1, 2020, albeit in a slightly different manner.

Of course, winning the FA Cup doesn't come with the prize of Champions League qualification, but a Europa League spot is up for grabs for the north London outfit.

This is because should Chelsea claim a top-four finish in the Premier League, then an extra spot in Europe's second-tier competition becomes available.

Therefore, unless Arsenal finish in the top-six they will have to wait an extra week to decided their European fate.

And this scenario would mean Mikel Arteta's side will be in a must-win position.

This has prompted one Chelsea fan, in particular, to come up with a brilliant theory to deny the Gunners a place in the Europa League, just like they did with the Champions League over 12 months ago.

One Chelsea player who shares the same belief is Oliver Giroud as he's relishing the prospect of facing his old club in another final.

"I said to my boys in the dressing room, ‘I would love to win another one’. It would be my fifth one," he told the BBC after the game. "Another final now, it’s gonna be another big game against Arsenal. It’s going to be so special for me, personally.

“We want to finish top-three and win another FA Cup."
