Chelsea eye Mauro Icardi, Moussa Dembele set for Lyon exit - latest European transfer rumours

Sides around Europe may have strengthened their squads for the second half of the campaign in January, but there's already one eye on the summer transfer window.

There is still plenty to play for this season, but scouts will no doubt be working hard behind the scenes as they search for new talent to improve their sides this summer.

With that mind, we take a close look at the latest European transfer rumours doing the rounds.

Icardi eyed by Chelsea

Inter Milan striker Mauro Icardi could be headed to Chelsea this summer, according to FCInternews.

Icardi is currently on loan at PSG from the Serie A side and has impressed in Paris with 11 goals in 14 starts so far this season.

He has a clause in his loan contract which allows the French club to buy him for €65m this summer, but according to the latest reports, Frank Lampard’s side have registered their interest.

Dembele set for Lyon exit

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas will let striker Moussa Dembele leave the club, but will have to accept less than his £83m price tag.

According to Sky Sports, Lyon are ready to cash in on the former Celtic and Fulham striker, with Chelsea, Manchester United and Everton all linked.

Dembele has scored 13 times this season and injuries to key players meant Lyon were unwilling to let him leave in January.

Roma aim to keep Smalling and Mkhitaryan

Roma manager Paulo Fonseca wants to sign both Chris Smalling and Henrikh Mkhitaryan on a permanent basis.

Sky Sports News is reporting that Fonseca has informed the club of his desire to keep hold of both players beyond the summer transfer window.

Smalling joined the Serie A side from Manchester United in the summer, while Mkhitaryan has struggled with injuries this season, linked up with the club from Arsenal.
