Chelsea evening headlines as RB Leipzig send Timo Werner warning, next season's striking options

Here are your Chelsea evening headlines for Friday, April 10.

RB Leipzig chief warns Chelsea

Oliver Mintzlaff, chief executive of RB Leipzig, has stated he is ‘relaxed’ about the situation surrounding Timo Werner.

The forward, who has been in scintillating form for Die Rotten Bullen this season, has been linked with moves to Chelsea and Liverpool in recent times and would be a perfect solution to Frank Lampard’s striking problems.

“I’m deeply relaxed about Werner,” Mintzlaff said to Sky Germany . “He hasn’t signalled yet that he wants to leave at the end of the season and he doesn’t have to. He has a contract until 2023.”

The German international has scored 27 goals in 36 games this year and has also been linked to Bayern Munich, where he could be the perfect heir to Robert Lewandowski.

How Chelsea’s front line could look next season

Mason Mount, Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Christian Pulisic are all capable of filling in the number 10 position at Chelsea next season, with incoming Ajax man Hakim Ziyech also a great fit for the role.

That’s according to our reporter Oliver Harbord, who has delved into the subject.

So, with links also emerging of a move for Phillipe Coutinho, how will Lampard fit so many attacking midfielders into the role?

With Willian and Pedro both linked with moves away from the Bridge, Lampard could use Pulisic as a winger - with Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi also capable of playing on both flanks, while the club are continually linked with a move for Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund. Moves for both Coutinho and Sancho seem unlikely with Ziyech already through the door.

Finally, up front, Tammy Abraham seems to have cemented his role as the number nine - despite links to Moussa Dembele and Werner. Michy Batshuayi and Olivier Giroud will likely be told that their future lies away from the Bridge.

Kia Joorabchian discusses his Arsenal links

Willian’s agent, Kia Joorabchian, has claimed that his position as an Arsenal fan has no bearing on his role as an agent; with the Gunners one of a few clubs linked with winger.

“The fact I'm an Arsenal supporter is not a secret," Joorabchian told Sky Sports News .

"I don't have any preference where the players go. I don't try to push someone to one club or another. Everything is a possibility."

Willian has also been linked to Chelsea’ other London rivals, Tottenham, where he could reunite with former Blues boss Jose Mourinho.

Beyond England, Barcelona have been touted as another club who may look to prise the Brazilian away from Stamford Bridge.
