Chelsea evening headlines as Marc-Andre Ter Stegen 'offer' made, Kai Havertz hint

Here are your Chelsea headlines for the evening of Thursday July 30.

Chelsea defender drops hint in response to Kai Havertz speculation

Antonio Rudiger has responded to rumours that his Germany international teammate Kai Havertz could join him at Chelsea this summer, with the centre back describing him as a “great talent.”

Havertz is reportedly seen as a priority target for the Stamford Bridge club this summer. Rudiger played a key role in luring Timo Werner to Chelsea and there have been rumours the defender is now doing the same to the Bayer Leverkusen man.

“Has he been linked with us?” Rudiger laughed when asked about his fellow German. “Yes, he is a great talent and he had a very good season. He is also very young and we will see what happens [with his future].”

Chelsea buyback clause on Nathan Ake explained as City move nears

Nathan Ake is edging closer to a move to Manchester City after the Etihad Stadium side agreed a fee with Bournemouth for the player, but Chelsea still hold a buyback clause on the Dutchman.

Frank Lampard on impact of Champions League on transfers

The 25-year-old made the move to the Vitality Stadium in 2017 after struggling for first team opportunities at Chelsea, but the Blues had been believed to be considering going back for Ake as they look for defensive reinforcements.

City have now agreed a £41million fee with Bournemouth for Ake, but TalkSport report that Chelsea now have the option to match that offer with one of their own.

Ake suffered relegation from the Premier League with Bournemouth on Sunday, but has impressed for the Cherries since signing three years ago, also becoming a full Netherlands international.

Offer for Barcelona and Germany goalkeeper lodged by Blues

Chelsea have made an offer for Barcelona and Germany international goalkeeper Marc-Andre Ter Stegen as they continue their search for a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Spanish publication Cadena Ser (via Daily Express ) claim Ter Stegen has been presented with the chance to make the move to Stamford Bridge this summer, with Bayern Munich also interested in the 28-year-old.

Ter Stegen has just two years left on his current contract at the Camp Nou and lengthy discussions over an extension have yet to result in anything meaningful.

Frank Lampard is widely believed to be on the lookout for a new goalkeeper this summer after losing faith in Kepa Arrizabalaga, with the former Athletic Club shot-stopper dropped for the final day of the season clash against Wolves.
