Chelsea evening headlines as Kai Havertz sent message amid Eden Hazard warning

Here are your Chelsea evening headlines for Thursday, March 18.

Havertz told to do more

former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has refused to change his stance on Kai Havertz despite the midfielder impressing in Chelsea's win over Atletico Madrid on Wednesday.

"There is definitely a better situation for Havertz but I'm still not convinced," Leboeuf told ESPN FC.

"I saw him playing last season and he was like 10 times better than he showed today.

"So I think I'm right to ask more from that player. Everybody tells me that he needs time to settle, fine by me, as long as the others the the job and again he does better.

"But sometimes I say 'he's not there, he's not there', sometimes the control, the pass.

"Something he would have never missed last season.

"I want to be patient, I'm not going to say anything more about Havertz, let's see."

Edan Hazard warned

Eden Hazard's move to Real Madrid was a dream come true for the former Chelsea star, however, in reality, his time in the Spanish capital has turned into more of a nightmare for the Belgium captain.

The 30-year-old has had persistent issues with his left ankle since his arrival at the Bernabeu and according to a report in The Sun Hazard wants another operation on the injury.

However his club and country are in disagreement about when he should have the surgery if that is the path he elects to take. Belgium want Hazard to go under the knife as soon as possible in hope that their captain can return to action in time for this summer's European Championships.Real would prefer their star to postpone the procedure

A leading Spanish doctor has suggested that a third operation on his ankle is a huge risk for Hazard.

Dr. Jose Gonzalez, who works for Atletico Madrid, has warned the procedure could result in the end of the Belgian's career.

Dr. Gonzalez told Ondacero: "A third operation on Eden Hazard's ankle is very risky, there could be the possibility that the player would not play football again.”

The doctor added: "Without an operation, Hazard will be able to train again in a month's time but not to play. From my experience, it is difficult to see Hazard play for Madrid again this season.”

Bayern wanted Chelsea stars

Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick has name-checked three Chelsea players as dream signings for Bayern Munich.

"It is said that Hudson-Odoi and [Sergino] Dest were my dream signing, they were our [Bayern Munich's] dream signings," he said.

"But it didn't work out, especially during coronavirus, it's difficult for Brazzo [Sporting Director- Hasan Salihamidzic]. Then we decided to add quantity [not quality]."

German internationals Havertz and Werner were two other players that Flick mentioned when talking about players Bayern wish they had been able to sign in the summer transfer window.

"Ideally I would've wanted all three:[Leroy] Sane, Werner and Havertz," Flick said.
