Here are the Chelsea evening headlines on Tuesday, June 23.
Chelsea open Havertz talks
Chelsea have reportedly begun negotiations with Bayer Leverkusen as they seek to purchase Kai Havertz this summer.
The Blues have already been heavily active in the transfer market ahead of next season, agreeing deals to sign Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner.
And Frank Lampard is said to be keen to further bolster his attack with the acquisition of Havertz.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea are in talks with Leverkusen over a potential deal for the £90million-rated attacking midfielder.
That price tag is said to be a sticking point, and it is believed Chelsea will attempt to reduce the fee for the Germany international.
Real Madrid and Manchester United are also thought to be keeping tabs on the situation.
Poyet predicts Abraham-Werner partnership
Former Chelsea midfielder Gus Poyet believes Werner and Tammy Abraham can play together up front.
The Blues completed the signing of Werner from RB Leipzig after triggering his £47.5million release clause last week.
The German predominantly plays through the middle for Leipzig but has also been deployed from the left.
And Poyet thinks Lampard could find a way to fit both Werner and Abraham into the same side.
“They can definitely play together because he’s been playing, in his team, with the big fella up front. So, it’s not new for him,” he told talkSPORT.
“It’s just a matter of the system you play and how you prefer to play. I think it’s options. For any manager to have different options is very important.
“I think Tammy has done very well and I hope he finishes the season in the same way because that’s the best way to give somebody a decision to make. You’ve done your best and then it’s down to Frank Lampard to pick.”
Solskjaer addresses Gomes’ future
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has spoken out on Angel Gomes’ future amid the youngster being linked with a move to Chelsea.
The 19-year-old midfielder is out of contract at Old Trafford this summer and has yet to agree an extension beyond June 30.
The deadline for doing so is today - June 23 - and as things stand Gomes looks set to depart United next week, potentially paving the way for a switch to Stamford Bridge.
"For me, I've not spoken to anyone last night or this morning, so the paperwork and the admin, the meetings that are going on, I can't update on that," a tight-lipped Solskjaer said.
