Chelsea set to offer Leverkusen transfer ‘gift’ after Kai Havertz deal
Chelsea have completed the signing of Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen, according to reports, and could now offer the Bundesliga club a transfer “gift.”
Eurosport journalist Manu Lonjon reports Malang Sarr, who signed for the Stamford Bridge club last week as a free agent, is set to join Leverkusen on loan for the 2020/21 season.
It’s claimed talks between Chelsea and Leverkusen will soon start over a deal for Sarr who left Nice after the expiration of his contract at the end of last season having impressed for the Ligue 1 club.
The relationship between Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen has apparently remained strong despite the tough negotiations over the transfer of Havertz, with an official announcement of a deal expected in the coming days.
Inter sporting director clarifies stance on pursuit of Chelsea midfielder
Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante is not a transfer target for Inter despite speculation that the Serie A club could make a move for the Frenchman this summer.
Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has dismissed suggestions that the San Siro outfit are targeting Kante with reports earlier this week claiming talks had already taken place with Chelsea over a £80million move.
“We’ve never started anything to sign Kante from Chelsea. No chance. He’s not a target,” Ausilio he told Sky Sports Italia.

Kante has been a key figure for Chelsea since making the move to Stamford Bridge from Leicester City four years ago, but spent much of last season on the sidelines as he struggled with injury.
Young Chelsea defender handed injury blow on international duty
Reece James has been forced to withdraw from the England Under-21s squad due to injury, handing Chelsea another fitness blow ahead of the start of the new season.

The young right back had been preparing for England’s U21s' matches against Kosovo and Austria, but suffered an injury in training. James has been replaced in the squad by former Chelsea academy player Tariq Lamptey.
Chelsea face Brighton in their opening fixture of the 2020/21 Premier League season on September 14 and the Blues’ preparations for that game have been less than ideal.
Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori are all struggling for fitness at the moment, while others have been unable to join training due to Covid-19 protocol. James’ injury only adds to these troubles.
