Good evening, Chelsea fans. Here are your evening headlines for Tuesday, August 4.
Havertz vital to Chelsea summer squad overhaul
Chelsea have already secured the signing of both Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech for next season and the Stamford Bridge club are still hoping to get some more new few faces in through the door.
Kai Havertz has become the Blues’ number one priority, with the German international seen as a crucial part of the squad overhaul Frank Lampard wants to achieve this summer.
There are also a number of other positions the Chelsea manager and the recruitment staff at Stamford Bridge must address, through, with a new goalkeeper and a new left back also among their priorities according to Rob Guest.
Chelsea could also target a new central defender and another forward to add to their ranks ahead of the start of the 2020/21 season.
Blues in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Real Madrid left-back
Sergio Reguilon could be on his way to Chelsea with the Blues in “advanced talks” over a move for the Real Madrid left-back.
Lampard is aware of his side’s desperate need to find a new left-sided defender before the start of next season, with Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell seen as a top target.
However, there is a recognition that signing Chilwell this summer will be difficult.

ESPN claims the Blues have identified Reguilon as a target and could sign the 23-year-old on a loan deal or on a permanent basis for a fee of around €25 million.
The Real Madrid academy graduate broke through into the club’s senior squad at the start of the 2018/19 season but was loaned out to Sevilla this term and impressed for Julen Lopetegui’s side.
Chelsea to be without key stars for Bayern clash
Chelsea’s task of overturning a 3-0 deficit away from home against Bayern Munich in their Champions League last-16 second leg on Saturday hasn’t been made any easier by injuries.
The Blues will be depleted for their trip to Bavaria to take on the Bundesliga champions, with N’Golo Kante, Willian and Ruben Loftus-Cheek all set to miss out having been sidelined for Saturday’s FA Cup final defeat to Arsenal.
Christian Pulisic, Cesar Azpilicueta and Pedro all picked up injuries in that match and will also be absent for the clash at the Allianz Arena.
