Chelsea evening headlines as Blues chase 'next Ronaldo' and Lampard's biggest dilemma revealed

Here are the Chelsea evening headlines on Wednesday, June 3.

The man who could help Chelsea sign ‘next Cristiano Ronaldo’

Chelsea are monitoring 18-year-old Santos forward Kaio Jorge, according to German publication Kicker.

Jorge has turned heads all over Europe after scoring seven goals in 11 appearances for Brazil’s Under-17 squad and has been dubbed ‘the next Cristiano Ronaldo’.

And Chelsea may have the edge as Jorge shares an agent with former Brazilian Blues stars Oscar and David Luiz. Chelsea could utilise their relationship with Giuliano Bertolucci in order to secure Jorge’s signature.

On speculation linking the player with a move away from Brazil, Jorge said: "I leave these things to my agent. I don’t get involved, he manages them.”

Nevin on Lampard’s biggest dilemmas

Chelsea legend Pat Nevin thinks Blues boss Frank Lampard could be back to square one when it comes to choosing his best starting XI when the Premier League kicks off again this month.

“Lampard has put a lot of stock on who has trained well before choosing his team this season, but that will be different now in what is a fast-tracked pre-season training regime,” Nevin told the Chelsea website.

“How do you really figure out who is in good form really? I reckon there will be much more guess work than there normally is. And what about those who were ‘flying’ just before the lockdown.

"It would feel very unfair on them if they were hoofed for the next game, even if there has been a few months in between those two fixtures.

“There will also be the delicacy of those players who are expected to be leaving the club. Do you play them? That is never an easy decision.”

Saul Niguez announces ‘new team’ amid Chelsea interest

Atletico Madrid midfield Saul Niguez has finally announced his ‘new team’ after teasing the announcement for days on social media.

Niguez is one of Europe’s hottest prospects and has been linked with moves to several of the continent’s biggest sides, including Chelsea and Arsenal.

But rather than announce a move away from Madrid, Niguez has told the world he has created a new football team called Club Costa City with his brother Aaron.

The team will bring together more than 30 teams and more than 500 players of all categories (between 4 and 18 years old) in his home city of Elche.
