Here are the Chelsea evening headlines for Wednesday, October 14.
Chelsea told to complete Declan Rice transfer from West Ham amid bold N’Golo Kante claim
Declan Rice would represent an upgrade on current Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante, according to TalkSport pundit Darren Bent.
The England international has been linked heavily with a move to Chelsea this summer, but so far the two teams have been unable to reach an agreement.
Now Bent has encouraged the Blues to push forward with a move for Rice, believing he is a better option in midfield than World Cup winner Kante.
“N’Golo Kante has been a superb footballer - and still is a great footballer,” Bent told TalkSport .
“He won the Premier League with Leicester, went to Chelsea and won the Premier League and won the World Cup in 2018.
“But I just think over the past season and a half, he’s not played that role we know he is so good at, for whatever reason.”

Bayern admit they’re not in the running for Chelsea player
Callum Hudson-Odoi is no longer a target for Bayern Munich, the club’s sporting director has confirmed.
Bayern returned to the table recently but were unable to agree a deal for Hudson-Odoi despite their best efforts.
Maria Granovskaia was open to the winger leaving the club if Bayern met her conditions. The most notable of her demands included a ‘purchase obligation of €77m’ if he had made a certain number of appearances.
SportBild have spoken to Hasan Salihamidžić, Bayern’s sporting director, and he has confirmed the club are no longer pursuing a deal.
“There are transfers that get to the point where you have to say we’re out now. This makes it all the more important to think about alternatives or alternative ways from the outset.”
Bild have also reported some of his quotes, adding: “We negotiated with Chelsea but there was no agreement. That’s what happened.”
