Chelsea end Arsenal's unbeaten start to WSL season with Maria Thorisdottir's late strike sealing comeback

Chelsea came from behind to beat Arsenal and end the Gunners' unbeaten start to the Women's Super League.

Danielle van de Donk gave the visitors the lead inside 10 minutes, finding the corner of the net after being picked out by Vivianne Miedema.

Chelsea found an equaliser just after the hour mark, however, with Beth England well placed to tuck home Fran Kirby's cut back.

Maria Thorisdottir emerged from the bench to find a stunning winner from 25 yards out with just four minutes of the match remaining.

Arsenal had won three out of three heading into Sunday’s match and had hoped for another victory that would have drawn them level with league leaders Manchester City.

A Chelsea win however sees them leapfrog the Gunners into second place with 10 points from their opening four matches.
