Chelsea drop team news hint ahead of Juventus Champions League clash

Chelsea will continue their defence of the Champions League tonight when they face Italian giants Juventus in Turin with Thomas Tuchel eager to bounce back to winning ways.

The Blues were beaten for the first time this season on Saturday, with Pep Guardiola's Manchester City putting in a dominant performance to pick up a 1-0 win in what could prove a big result in the Premier League title race.

It was a thoroughly disappointing display from the reigning European champions, who were unable to gather any sort of attacking rhythm, making things far easier for their opponents that they needed to be.

There could be changes for the trip to Italy and the Blues may well have dropped a selection hint on their Twitter account, choosing to photograph Callum Hudson-Odoi emerging from the aeroplane over anyone else.

The 20-year-old has made just three appearances so far this season - one each in the Premier League and Carabao Cup as well as a start in the UEFA Super Cup win against Villarreal.

Trevoh Chalobah also took to Twitter on Monday, sharing a snap of himself in training along with the caption: "Monday motivation" - could we see a change in the back-line tonight?

Edouard Mendy was brought back into the starting line-up against City on Saturday but whether or not Tuchel continues to persist with the Senegal shot-stopper remains to be seen.

Kepa Arrizabalaga will be waiting for his opportunity should it come his way, and he shared a photo of himself boarding the team aeroplane to Turin on his Instagram Story on Tuesday.

Tuchel will be without a number of players on Wednesday night, with Mason Mount, Reece James, N'Golo Kante and Christian Pulisic all missing out with various set-backs.

James limped out of the action against Manchester City with an ankle injury and will be out for at least another week, according to the Chelsea boss, while Kante has tested positive for Covid-19.
