Chelsea drop potential team news hint ahead of Real Madrid Champions League clash

Chelsea have provided a possible team news hint ahead of their Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid.

The Blues take on Zinedine Zidane's men in the Spanish capital this evening in the first of two legs as they look to reach their first Champions League final since winning the competition in 2012.

It has been a strange build-up to this game with the whole Super League saga, something that has left the Spanish media suggesting referees could be biased towards Real Madrid as a result of Florentino Perez's efforts to start a breakaway competition.

But Chelsea have to ignore the noise and produce a performance at the highest level to defeat a Real Madrid side that has dominated this competition in recent years, winning four of the last eight editions.

And to do that, Thomas Tuchel is going to have to get his team selection spot on for the first leg at Valdebebas with a number of selection dilemmas to choose from.

The Blues picked up a huge win in their battle for a top four finish last time out, against West Ham, and the temptation could be to stick with the same team.

Timo Werner started and scored the winner at the London Stadium, and he could be in line to start again this evening if Chelsea's social media graphic is anything to go by.

The promo picture for the game features Werner prominently, as well as likely starters N'Golo Kante and Jorginho.

Thiago Silva also features on the image, as well as in-form midfielder Hakim Ziyech, who is expected to start at Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

Whoever Tuchel goes with, he will face a much-strengthened Real Madrid side this evening with Zidane getting a number of key players back from injury in recent weeks.

Ferland Mendy remains out but former Chelsea star Eden Hazard, as well as key midfielder Toni Kroos are back from injury and in contention to start.
