Marc Guehi once again put in a stellar display for Swansea City last night.
Despite Steve Cooper's men going down 3-1 to a supremely talented Manchester City side, the home team emerged with some credit in the bank.
And none more so than on-loan Chelsea defender Guehi, who was as commanding in the FA Cup as he has been in the Championship.
Guehi was up against world-class talent in the likes of Gabriel Jesus, Bernardo Silva and Raheem Sterling but the youngster didn't look out of place when tasked with dealing with City's attackers.
At one stage in the first half Sterling tried to get down Swansea's left-hand flank but was met by the rock that is Guehi, who used his supreme upper body strength to flip the England star off the ball with apparent ease.
Guehi then calmly played the ball out of defence, giving Swansea's players a brief respite from City's relentless attacks.
Fans from both Swansea and Chelsea loved what Guehi did in that instance.
"Chelsea loanee Guehi owning Sterling. I swear this guy and Reece James are beasts," one said.
"Marc Guehi absolutely owned Raheem Sterling there. Things you love to see. No doubt this boy would grow up to have a glittering career. Phenomenal player," added another.
"Marc Guehi has absolutely ruined Sterling," said a third.
His reputation has gone from strength to strength in SA1 and he is arguably the best defender in the division, such have been his level of performances.
Thomas Tuchel, Chelsea's new man in charge at Stamford Bridge, will welcome Guehi back this summer and a fruitful 18 months in south Wales.
Having arrived at the end of the January transfer window, the German did not have time to bring in reinforcements, so the end of the campaign will be an opportunity to do that.
Bayern Munich's David Alaba is a name mentioned with a move to west London, with the Austrian out of contract with the Bundesliga giants.
The 28-year-old has been superb in Bavaria and would no doubt add experience to Tuchel's new-look Blues team but in Guehi Chelsea already have the future.
Alaba would arrive on a free transfer but would cost the club millions in wages and no doubt a hefty signing-on fee.
Tuchel prides himself on his record of working with young players and in Guehi he has a talent which, if nurtured correctly, could become an established Premier League name. It would also cost them a fraction of what Alaba would demand.
That money could then be redirected towards Tuchel's main transfer focus - a striker - with links to Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland ramping up.
Guehi has helped Swansea to become the meanest defensive units in the country. He deserves his chance in London next term.
