Manchester United supporters have begged their club to follow Chelsea’s lead and sack club legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after their calamity against Leicester City.
Despite taking the lead in the East-Midlands with a Mason Greenwood wonderstrike, the Red Devils were quickly pinned back as Youri Tielemans scored a stunning strike of his own.
Caglar Soyuncu put the Foxes ahead in the second-half, with United thinking they’d earned a share of the points through Marcus Rashford.
However, goals from Jamie Vardy and Patson Daka condemned Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to defeat at the King Power Stadium, meaning Manchester United have now gone three games without a win in the Premier League ahead of a tough run of fixtures.
According to The Athletic, Solskjaer’s job at Old Trafford is not currently under threat despite the disappointing form, a decision that has left some supporters baffled.
Taking to Twitter, they have appealed to the club to make a similar decision that Chelsea faced only nine months ago.
Also stuck in a tricky spell under club icon Frank Lampard, the former midfielder was jettisoned from his post, with Thomas Tuchel taking the reins.
The German enjoyed a quick impact at Stamford Bridge by winning the Champions League and leading the Blues back into the top four, whilst also claiming the UEFA Super Cup title against Villarreal. Manchester United fans have appealed to their club to make a similar decision over Solskjaer’s future.
Solskjaer has been in charge at Old Trafford since being handed control on an interim basis in December 2018 following the sacking of former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.
He impressed enough to be handed a permanent deal and has overseen 162 matches in the time since, winning 89 of those.
The 48-year-old penned a new deal earlier this summer that is set to run until 2024 with the option of a further year.
