Chelsea deliver social media response to Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Chelsea have responded after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's rant following the 0-0 draw with Manchester United.

United thought they had a penalty in the first-half after a 'handball' from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Initially, the Blues players were appealing for a handball from Mason Greenwood, but when it went to the VAR, Hudson-Odoi 's involvement was being investigated.

The ball appeared to hit the hand or arm of both players, but after being instructed to look himself on the pitch side monitor, referee Stuart Attwell decided there was nothing doing.

Speaking after a rather uneventful goalless draw at Stamford Bridge, United boss Solskjaer accused Chelsea of posting an article that may have influenced Attwell in regards to VAR decisions.

Earlier in the campaign, the two sides met at Old Trafford and played out a goalless draw, and in the game, there was an incident when Harry Maguire came together with Cesar Azpilicueta, but VAR did not deem the challenge worthy of a penalty.

The article said : "The Man United skipper’s actions will also be under scrutiny again on Sunday after his penalty area tangle with Jamal Lascelles last weekend.

"In recent Chelsea meetings the Reds’ centre-back has survived VAR reviews of a potential penalty foul on Cesar Azpilicueta and violent challenge on Michy Batshuayi that may well have affected the outcome."

Solskjaer subsequently told Sky Sports after the match: "Yep, 100% (is a penalty). No idea (why it wasn’t given), not at all, especially when they stop it, he walks across to watch it.

"From here, you can see it’s a handball but you think it’s our player who does it and then when you look at it on the video, it’s taken two points away from us.

“I can’t say because that’s not going to be good for him. Of course it is (concerning). I didn’t say it so I don’t want to cause controversy, it’s not right, is it?

"It’s all these outside influences, even the VAR talk here before the game with Harry, that’s cheeky when they put that on their website, that’s influencing referees. You can go back and look at the websites. You can read it, what they’re saying about all the controversy with Harry Maguire and putting pressure on the referees to give penalties against us (laughs).

“We’ve seen there was a manager, was it Frank who started it? There’s loads of talk about us getting penalties when there is no doubt whatsoever. Now, we should have had the penalty, that’s clear.”

Now, Chelsea have posted an article on their website and shared it with their followers on Twitter.

Some of the replies to the tweet make for humorous reading if you are a Blues supporter.

Chelsea are next in action on Thursday evening as they travel to the champions Liverpool in a game that could have huge implications on the top four.

The Blues could extend their advantage over the Reds to four points should they win on Merseyside.

Thomas Tuchel will be hoping his side can show a little more in front of goal than they did against Man United on Sunday.
