Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta gives four-word response to odd Zlatan Ibrahimovic incident

Chelsea defender Cesar Azpilicueta has taken to social media with his response to a bizarre incident involving himself and Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In a video circulating on Twitter on Sunday evening of the two, the Spaniard appeared to be the victim of a bizarre elbow to the back from the former Manchester United man.

Azpilicueta understandably fell to the floor in pain following the incident, with the 40-year-old following him in suit.

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets led appeals to the referee in response to the apparent elbow, but Ibrahimovic stayed on the field to finish the game.

Poking fun at the incident by retweeting the video, Azpilicueta himself then wrote ‘Todo bien por aquí’, meaning ‘Everything is good here’ in Spanish.

His response might well have been different had Spain not won the game 1-0 courtesy of former Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata’s 86th-minute goal that left them top of Group B in World Cup qualifying and having guaranteed a place at next year’s tournament in Qatar.

Meanwhile, Sweden sit second and will now face the lottery of the play-offs as they attempt to follow La Roja in booking their own qualification.

Whilst Ibrahimovic has not yet commented on the incident between himself and Azpilicueta, the now AC Milan veteran did however fire a cheeky shot towards Spain after the final whistle by suggesting that they did not deserve victory on the night.

He said: “We played a good game, a very good game. We made a mistake on the goal and they got a shot away and scored from the rebound.

“Otherwise it was a good performance overall, we had good chances, better chances than Spain had.”

Azpilicueta and Ibrahimovic could be set to renew rivalries this season during the latter stages of the Champions League.

Whilst Chelsea look well on their way to booking a place in the knockout rounds, AC Milan’s task is somewhat more difficult having taken just one point from their opening four group games.

They have to beat both Atletico Madrid and Liverpool to stand any chance of progressing.
