Chelsea dealt huge injury blow ahead of Liverpool FA Cup match with star suffering 'Grade 2 tear'

Chelsea star N'Golo Kante could miss out on facing Liverpool at Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup after reportedly suffering a 'Grade 2' tear.

The France international limped off the field on Monday night during the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United.

According to L'Equipe, a scan has revealed the midfielder has suffered an abductor injury - meaning he could be out for three weeks.

In that time, Frank Lampard's side will face Tottenham Hotspur, Bayern Munich, Bournemouth and Liverpool.

The Reds will play Chelsea on March 4 in the fifth round of the FA Cup and Kante will be a big miss for the home side should he not play.

Kante had to come off during the match against United only 10 minutes into the game after what has so far been an injury-plagued campaign for the 28-year-old.

He has managed 17 appearances in all competitions for the London side so far this term, missing nine Premier League games through various issues.

Lampard was pessimistic about the state of Kante's injury after the game too stating that "it doesn't look great."
