Chelsea could sign their very own Sadio Mane if Marina Granovskaia secures £27m transfer

There are now just over two weeks remaining of the summer transfer window and it could be a very important period for Chelsea.

The Blues, who comfortably beat Crystal Palace 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in their Premier League opener, have made two signings so far - with Romelu Lukaku (£97.5million) and Marcus Bettinelli (free transfer) arriving at Stamford Bridge.

However, despite a hefty chunk being spent on Lukaku, the west London club continue to be linked with a host of new players and could still make a move before the transfer window closes on August 31.

According to the Daily Mail, Chelsea are interested in signing Metz starlet Pape Sarr.

The French club are said to value the 18-year-old ace at £27million and have the teenager under contract for another four years, but his exciting potential has seen him linked with a move away this month.

Everton are thought to be 'leading the chase' to sign Sarr, who is already a full international for Senegal.

Being an exciting talent from Senegal leads to inevitable comparisons to Liverpool winger Sadio Mane, who is perhaps the country's strongest player.

The African country have a host of exciting talents at their disposal, but none more so than Mane, who has been brilliant for the Reds since making the £34million switch to Anfield in the summer of 2016 from Southampton.

Senegal manager Aliou Cisse, when speaking earlier this summer, compared reported Chelsea target Sarr to Mane.

“For me, he is like Sadio Mane,” Cisse said about Sarr in June.

“It’s true he has less experience than Mane and has proven less than him, but he is able to play in several systems.”

Despite Chelsea thought to be keen on Sarr, it appears Everton are in the driving seat for his signature as things stand, with the Merseyside club already in dialogue with Metz over the possibility of taking the teenager.

But the French club could look to drive the price for Sarr up, with Chelsea, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Newcastle United also reportedly interested.
