Chelsea could sign the 'greatest' player Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has ever managed

First there was the notorious capture of former Kop Idol Fernando Torres, then there was the signing of Liverpool-linked striker Timo Werner who had seemed destined for Anfield.

But now speculation suggests Chelsea could be eyeing up the man who Jurgen Klopp said was the best player he’d ever managed.

Having steered Liverpool to Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Premier League triumphs in recent years, Klopp has got a wealth of top talent at his disposal at Anfield but it’s a player from his previous post at Borussia Dortmund who he still considers the be number one footballer he’s worked with.

Back in March, Sport Bible quoted the Reds boss as telling Bild that his best ever player is Robert Lewandowski, with Klopp saying: “It actually won't be fair to say that about any other player except Lewy.

"What he has made out of his potential, how he pushed himself to become the player he is today, that's extraordinary.”

Now the prolific Polish international centre-forward is being linked with a potential move to Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have 'already made contact' to sign Bayern Munich striker ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports.

Sky Sports Germany claim that the west London side, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are all interested in signing the 32-year-old.

Current holder of The Best FIFA Men’s Player award, prolific scorer Lewandowski has netted 549 goals for club and country so far during his illustrious career.
