Chelsea could land £25.2m windfall to fund summer signings after two stars make transfer decision

Chelsea could be set for a transfer windfall with two players reportedly set for exits this summer.

The Blues have been linked with a number of big transfers ahead of this summer with strikers Erling Haaland and Romelu Lukaku both linked, while the likes of Raphael Varane have also been linked.

According to recent reports, Chelsea will have a big helping hand in wrapping up some of those deals with a £150million transfer kitty from Roman Abramovich, and they might get a little extra help in the way of exits.

That's because, according to reports, two players have already decided they will leave this summer.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, both Emerson Palmieri and Marcos Alonso have already decided they want to leave the club this summer.

The report claims both players want to 'feel important again' having fallen out of favour to varying degrees.

Emerson has barely had a look in this season, while Alonso was an important part of Tuchel's early days in charge, but has found himself in and out in recent weeks, playing a bit-part role behind Ben Chilwell.

According to the report, both players want a bigger role and they look set to depart ahead of next season.

Though, both departures could provide some cash for the Blues.

Under contract until 2023, Alonso is valued at £11.7million by Transfermarkt and could well go for more, given his contribution under Tuchel so far.

Meanwhile, Emerson is only under contract until 2022, but still only 26, the Italian is valued at a slightly higher £13.5million.

That could combine for a minimum income of £25.2million between the two players, money that could be put towards incomings.
