Chelsea considering bid for Kepa Arrizabalaga replacement in summer transfer window

Chelsea are reportedly keen on a move for Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana in the summer transfer window, with Frank Lampard considering a replacement for Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Lampard dropped Kepa for the important Premier League clash against fellow top-four contenders Leicester City at the weekend.

The 25-year-old has had disappointing spells of form in his two seasons at Stamford Bridge, and has been dropped by both Lampard and Maurizio Sarri before the manager's exit in the summer.

Willy Caballero stepped in to deputise at the King Power Stadium, but made a mistake that led to Leicester's second goal in the 2-2 draw.

And according to Goal, Chelsea have started scouting for potential replacements for Kepa, who was made the most expensive keeper in history when signed for £71million in 2018.

No decision has been made on whether Kepa would be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge, however. But Ajax's Onana has been identified as a top target, and is said to be keen on a move.

The Cameroon international has been in Amsterdam for nearly five years after joining the club's second team in 2015 from Barcelona.

The Spanish side are still keen on the keeper, but have other priorities to address in the transfer market, giving Chelsea a boost.

Links to Burnley star Nick Pope and Mike Maignan of Lille have also been made, but it is said to be unclear whether they are on Lampard's shortlist.
