Chelsea consider 'cashing in on Callum Hudson-Odoi amid contract dilemma'

Chelsea are still mulling over the future of Callum Hudson-Odoi and may be forced to cash in on the 18-year-old winger this summer.

The Blues are facing somewhat of a transfer crisis, with a potential ban looming over the club that would prevent them from registering new players in the next two windows.

The lack of incoming players means Hudson-Odoi’s chances of regular first-team football would likely improve, but he faces an uncertain future in west London.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge expires at the end of next season and Chelsea are yet to hold fresh talks over an extension of that deal.

The Daily Mail has claimed that the Blues are now weighing up their options, and could possibly cash in on the England international this summer.

Bayern Munich saw several bids rejected by the Premier League club in January, while Mirror Sport revealed last month that Manchester United are keeping an eye on his situation.

The winger, who is currently injured, will be able to hold pre-contact talks with European clubs as early as next January, but Chelsea would rather sell him for a larger fee this summer if he is to leave.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek is another Chelsea youngster whose future has been discussed recently - and he refused to deny he is in talks over a new contract.

The 23-year-old has scored nine goals this term and is confident he can put a long-term back problem behind him to reach his full potential.

Loftus-Cheek has two years to run on his Chelsea deal, but the Blues are keen to tie the midfielder down to longer terms at Stamford Bridge.

When asked if he is already in talks over a new deal, Loftus-Cheek grinned and said: "I'm not sure, I let my agent deal with it. I'm not thinking about that right now.

"It's important for me to focus on the here and now, and I'm playing right now. It's looking good so there's no reason why I should think about leaving Chelsea."
