Chelsea have confirmed that supporters wishing to attend matches at Stamford Bridge and Kingsmeadow this season will have to provide evidence they are at “low-risk of transmitting Covid-19” when the new campaign gets underway.
Capacity crowds are expected back in SW6 this season, the opening home game against Crystal Palace on August 14 is already a sell-out and the club says the new measures are to ensure safety for supporters, players and staff.
Likewise at Kingsmeadow where supporters will be back for the Chelsea women's team and under-23 fixtures throughout the season.
The new measures also cover the Mind Series friendly with Spurs on August 4 in Chelsea’s final pre-season friendly of the summer.
The club has stated that the proof they will require is either one of two things - proof that you have been double vaccinated against Covid-19 or that you have taken a Lateral Flow Test (LFT) within 48 hours of entering the ground and the result has come back negative.
Stewards on the gates at Stamford Bridge will check your eligibility to enter, which can be obtained either through the NHS Covid Pass on the NHS App or a for the LTF, either a text message or email from the NHS.
Spurs announced on Tuesday that they will be employing the very same regulations for their Mind Series game against Arsenal on August 8.
