Chelsea confirm goalkeeper exit amid Kepa rumours while talented midfielder returns to club

Chelsea have confirmed that Jamal Blackman has headed out on loan to Bristol Rovers.

The goalkeeper had spent the first half of the season with Vitesse Arnhem, but had struggled with injuries.

The Blues have recalled the shotstopper, however, and decided to keep him in England, moving him to the League One side.

It comes as question marks have been made over Chelsea's number one, Kepa Arrizabalaga, with Willy Caballero and Jamie Cumming as the back-ups.

Meanwhile, the club have also confirmed that Lewis Baker has been recalled early from his loan at German side Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The 24-year-old has made just seven Bundesliga starts for the club, with another appearance off the bench, and was without a goal or an assist.

The midfielder has struggled with injuries in recent years and has bounced around from loan clubs, having spent time with Sheffield Wednesday, MK Dons, Vitesse, Middlesbrough, Leeds United and Reading.

Baker is expected to be sent out on another loan spell for the rest of the campaign.

Chelsea's FA Youth Cup fifth round clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers has been announced to take place on Monday, February 10 at 7pm at the EBB Stadium in Aldershot.
