Chelsea confirm end of long-term deal as Blues go on search for new shirt sponsor

Chelsea have confirmed that Yokohama will no longer be the official shirt sponsor of the club from the end of the season.

The Blues have had the tyre company as the name on the front of their shirts for the past five years, however the Japanese-based firm will no longer be on the kit from next season.

Yokohama will still have a presence within the club, extending their deal with the Blues as the Official Global Tyre Partner.

Chelsea's commercial director Chris Townsend OBE said:"We are very pleased to announce our extended partnership with Yokohama. Having been on our shirts for many momentous victories and significant trophies lifted, Yokohama’s brand forms part of our Club’s proud history.

"We look forward to continuing our collaboration with Yokohama around the world, leveraging their significant brand awareness to meet new objectives.

It means that the Blues will be on the hunt for a new sponsor to be on the front of their kits from the 2020/21 campaign.

Chelsea are in FA Cup action tomorrow evening when they make the trip to Hull City at the KCOM Stadium.

That means Blues fans will get the chance to see the anniversary kit once again in the competition.

Nike released a commemorative strip to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Blues beating Leeds United in the !970 FA Cup final replay.

The Blues will wear the strip throughout the competition.
