Chelsea confirm double contract agreement after talks with Frank Lampard and Marina Granovskaia

Willian and Pedro have both signed short-term contracts to finish the season with Chelsea.

The Chelsea wingers are set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer, with their contracts expiring on 30 June.

There was doubt over whether either midfielder would make another appearance for Frank Lampard's side again, with Tuesday the cut-off point for players to agree fresh terms if their deal finished at the end of June.

But after productive talks with Lampard and director Marina Granovskaia, both wingers have agreed short-term contracts to take part in the rest of the rescheduled domestic campaign.

Willian has spent seven years at Chelsea, during which he has won four major trophies and was their Player of the Year in 2015/16. The Brazilian has been linked with a move across London to Arsenal or Tottenham in the summer, after previously admitting that his family are settled in the capital.

Pedro joined from Barcelona that same season and has since made 135 appearances for the Blues. Reports claim the 32-year-old has agreed terms on a move to Serie A side Roma.

The Spaniard was an unused substitute as Chelsea made a winning start on their return to Premier League action, beating Aston Villa 2-1 to strengthen their grip on a top four spot.

Manchester City are the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Thursday, before Chelsea travel to Leicester on Sunday for their FA Cup quarter-final tie.
